Meanwhile, the as the Zabis consolidate power in the newly-renamed Republic of Zeon, they also begin research into the "mobile walker", a new class of weaponry designed to resist the Federation.
■ Characters
Edward Mass
His true identity is Casval, son of Side 3 leader Zeon Zum Deikun. Having fled to Earth and been adopted by Teabolo Mass, he quickly matures in order to protect his younger sister Artesia (Sayla). Later, he will conceal his identity and become the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot Char Aznable. |
Sayla Mass
Her true identity is Artesia, son of Side 3 leader Zeon Zum Deikun. Having fled to Earth with her brother and pet cat, she lives a peaceful life with Teabolo Mass, growing into a kindly young woman who prays that no more tears of sorrow will ever be shed. |
■ Mecha
MW-01 Mobile Walker (Early)
Specs: Height 16.1m / head height 13.88m / width 14.6m
A prototype humanoid weapon designed for use by the Republic of Zeon in an eventual war of independence, currently under active development in a dark colony. The name "mobile walker" is an attempt to pass this machine off as intended for industrial use in lunar development. Its unique silhouette incorporates none of the sleek lines of a weapon of war, instead opting for an exposed cockpit and attachments including lights and a winch. Its right hand is a claw, apparently for demolition but also an effective weapon, and its left arm mounts a defensive shield. Combat tests against an early Guntank prove its potential as a next-generation weapons system. Its head mounts a single movable camera lens—the "monoeye". The mobile walker is powered by a back-mounted fusion reactor. Due to engineering difficulties, the reactor is oversized, reducing both speed and performance, and miniaturization is a top priority.
