It even transcends generations! Mobile Suit Gundam UC Film&Live episode 4 Premiere report [Part 2]

　In episode 4, the setting descends to Earth. In the first Mobile Suit Gundam TV series, the duel between Amuro and Ramba Ral in the desert, as well as amphibious MSes, featured significantly. In episode 4, Banagher and Zinnerman wander the desert, the huge MA 'Shamblo' delves the depths of the ocean, and the capital Dakar is assaulted. Famous mobile suits from Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ also make appearances. See the breathtaking action in high-quality animation! Fukui speaks before the screening of episode 4.

Fukui: In the Mobile Suit Gundam TV series, nameless Zeon soldiers were often voiced by Ichiro Nagai. In fact, about 40% of Zeon citizens ended up being him. Now, in episode 4 he plays Syam Vist. Of course, there's absolutely no way we could let the episode go buy without having him voice another nameless Zeon soldier. You may not pick up on it right away, but be sure to listen.'

　None in the audience seemed to have caught it on first listen. Be sure to check your copy of the Blu-ray or DVD and find the Zeon soldier with Ichiro Nagai's voice! Fukui also mentions other casting choices.

Fukui: 'There's a scene where Mineva enters a diner alone. Did you recognize the voice of the old man there? It was Garma Zabi's. Katsuji Mori, voice of Garma, played that old man. Director Furuhashi mentioned that he loves Mori's older roles and requested him specifically. During recording, the line 'Like Neo Zeon's Char...' came up. For a First Gundam fan, hearing Garma's voice criticize Char may seem like the end result of three decades of love and hate. (laughs) Also, one of the female operators aboard the Ra Cailum is played by Megumi Han, daughter of Keiko Han who played Lalah Sune. I'm struck by how the theme of generational interplay was even brought forth in the casting.'
