"Mobile Suit Gundam 35th Anniversary Project" is here! A revolution toward a new stage and new challenges is here!

Namco Bandai Holdings, Sotsu, and Sunrise have announced details of the "Mobile Suit Gundam 35th Anniversary Project",

Based around the theme "Rise! - The world is moving", the 35th Anniversary project looks ahead to the 40th Anniversary, seeking a new stage and new challenges.
The "Always Beginning" theme of 2009's Mobile Suit Gundam 30th Anniversary Project was embodied in the 18-meter, life-sized Gundam statue it brought forth, but the 35th Anniversary Project takes its form primarily in three new animation projects: the 7th episode of Mobile Suit Gundam UC, a new Gundam series by Director Yoshiyuki Tomino titled Gundam Reconguista in G, and an adaption of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's hit Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin comic.

Gundam's fans will also be able to enjoy the "G35" theme created by prolific TV and radio theme producer Yasutaka Nakata, an unprecedented exhibition titled "The Art Of Gundam", and more.

■ "Mobile Suit Gundam 35th Anniversary Project" key visuals released!

Today's key visuals feature the lead Gundams of Mobile Suit Gundam UC episode 7 (May 17th, 2014), Gundam Reconguista in G (Fall 2014), and Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin I: Aoi Hitomi no Casval (event screenings in Spring 2015).

■ 35th Anniversary theme "G35" by Yasutaka Nakata of CAPSULE!


Music producer Yasutaka Nakata, born in the same year as Gundam, has never been involved in a Gundam project before—but this makes him a perfect choice to represent the potential for new perspectives that continues to thrive.
Just like the concept and key visuals, "G35" seeks to embody a mood of activity, and a look toward what the future brings.
You'll hear this track repeatedly over the coming months. Be sure to give it a good listen when you do!

Yasutaka Nakata (CAPSULE)

Made his record debut as a member of CAPSULE in 2001. Has since produced Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, as well as being involved in the creation of TV and radio themes including the One Piece Film Z opening theme and the soundtrack to the series Liar Game.
As the first Japanese musician to officially remix Kylie Minogue, and a contributor to the Star Trek: Into Darkness soundtrack, he also boasts a broad global reach. His powerful, liberating sound has received accolades not just from other musicians, but from scenes as varied as fashion and film.
He's also a fixture at his own regular party, as well as musical fashion events worldwide.

■ "The Art Of Gundam" opens in Osaka this July!

The Osaka Culturarium at Tempozan will host "The Art of Gundam", an unprecedented exhibition of materials related to the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, from July 12th through August 31st of this year.
Over 1,000 pieces from the creation of the television series and movies will be on display, along with screenings of new footage created by Sunrise. Visitors can also get an early glimpse of the newest Gundam titles.

After Osaka, the exhibition will move to the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo, for an exhibition beginning in July 2015 that will include both updated displays and additional gift shop merchandise. More details on the exhibition will be announced on April 17th.

■ "Real G Next Project" takes a step forward!

The "Real G Next Project", intended to create a successor to the life-sized Gundam for the 40th Anniversary in 2019, has been announced.
This effort to create a new "Real Gundam" will be a global effort, drawing on entire world's knowledge. "Real G" takes a step toward a new phase.
More details are scheduled to be announced in early April on a teaser site and on the Gundam 35th Anniversary site.
