Entries in Gunpla Builders World Cup 2015, Bandai's official battle for the crown of the world's best Gunpla builder, open in Japan on May 18th.
Gunpla Builders World Cup, established in 2011 to encourage the tradition of Gunpla craftsmanship, expand the Gunpla market, and encourage the exchange of ideas between Gunpla fans from Asia and beyond, brings the most artistic efforts of the world's Gunpla lovers together yearly. In 2015, Gunpla's 35th anniversary, 20 city qualifiers will be held in 13 countries and regions, with the victors coming to Japan in December for a championship match to be held at Gundam Front Tokyo.
Entries for Japan open today on Bandai Hobby Site, and July 1st at participating Bandai Hobby Pro Shops nationwide. Online entries close September 1st, while in-shop entries close August 23rd, making it easy to get your own entry in however you'd like.
Starting this year, the second round of judging will include online voting as well as an expert panel, meaning Japan's Gunpla fans have a say in choosing who will represent them on the world stage.
Builders of entries which survive the web or in-shop rounds will receive an HG Build Strike Gundam Smoke Black Clear Ver.
